Creating Pathways to Permanently Affordable Homeownership

Urban Skyline View

Who We Are

Future Homebuyers Organization (FHO) expands access to stable, permanently affordable homeownership for Bellingham and Whatcom County residents who’ve been priced out of the market. We prevent displacement, support first‑generation buyers, and convert existing properties into resident‑owned communities. Through strategic partnerships and fast, practical projects, we bring more affordable homes online—so working families can build equity, stay rooted, and thrive in the communities they love.

Our Projects

FHO develops fast, practical, permanently affordable homeownership opportunities across Bellingham and Whatcom County. From bulk‑purchased condos offered below market to resident‑owned community conversions, our projects create stability, equity, and long‑term affordability for local families.

Become Eligible for Affordable Homeownership With Trusted Support

Future Homebuyers Organization partners with the Washington Homeownership Resource Center to guide you through every step — from counseling to education to purchasing an affordable home.

Opening Doors

Your support helps families move from instability to lasting homeownership. Every contribution expands access for first‑generation and low‑income buyers, creating generational change that strengthens our entire community. Together, we can make home ownership possible for those who’ve been shut out for decades.

Partners & Collaborators

FHO works alongside developers, nonprofits, and skilled professionals to bring more affordable homes online—quickly and sustainably. We build project‑specific teams that complement existing community efforts and fill gaps in the local housing landscape. If your organization shares our vision, we’d love to collaborate.

$1 Million State Investment.

Future Homebuyers Organization (FHO) has been awarded a $1 million grant from the Washington State Department of Commerce to expand affordable homeownership in Bellingham.
